How far is Nassfeld Golf from Berghotel Presslauer?
From Berghotel Presslauer it is 5 km to the Nassfeld Golf course, Waidegg 66, 9631 Waidegg. The hotel is in Kreuth ob Rattendorf in Carinthia’s Gail Valley at around 1,000 m above sea level, is run by the Presslauer family and has a small wellness area with three saunas. What does the Nassfeld Golf course offer?
According to the hotel, Nassfeld Golf has an 18-hole course, completed in 2009, on more than 70 hectares, with an island green on the 7th hole; according to 1golf.eu the championship course was designed by Gary Player’s design team. There is also a 6-hole practice course (par 3) on 50,000 m², a pitching and chipping area of more than 10,000 m², a 270 m driving range and a putting green of 920 m². The clubhouse has an office, a golf school, changing rooms and a restaurant.
Can you play golf at Nassfeld without club membership or a handicap?
Nassfeld Golf has a 6-hole panorama course next to the 18-hole course according to 1golf.eu, which Berghotel Presslauer describes as a par 3 practice course, plus a golf school in the clubhouse. Whether you may play there without club membership and without a handicap certificate, Nassfeld Golf will tell you directly, as will the current green fees. According to 1golf.eu the 6-hole course is cheaper with the plusCARD holiday; according to nassfeld.at, only premium partner establishments of the region issue this card.
When is the golf season at Nassfeld, and when is the hotel open?
According to 1golf.eu, Nassfeld Golf is played from early April to the end of October, depending on the weather. Berghotel Presslauer is open in summer from mid-May until the first weekend in October, in summer 2027 from 14 May to 3 October 2027 according to the price list. For golfers this means that from mid-May to early October golf season and hotel season overlap, in June and September also outside the high season in July and August.

In early summer and autumn 2027, from 14 May to 30 June and from 1 September to 3 October 2027, a hotel room at Berghotel Presslauer costs from €66 per person per night with breakfast and from €82 with half board, with a balcony from €71 and €87. In summer 2027, from 1 July to 31 August, prices start at €69 and €85. The hotel does not yet describe a golf package of its own. Cancellation is free of charge up to 30 days before arrival.

Can you combine golf with hiking and the sauna?
Yes. At Berghotel Presslauer, hikes start right at the hotel, and according to the hotel there are more than 1,000 km of marked trails in the region. After your round or hike there is the small wellness area with a Finnish sauna, the Sole Stube and an infrared sauna, plus massages in the Kräuter SPA. In the evening there is half board with beef and speck from the family’s own production, and the natural swimming pond is right in front of the hotel.

Which day trips go well with a golf holiday in the Gail Valley?
From Berghotel Presslauer it is about 20 minutes by car to the Pressegger See, whose water reaches up to 28 °C according to kaernten.at, and about 45 minutes to Lake Weissensee. In June the Wulfenia flowers on the Gartnerkofel, which according to nassfeld.at is about 30 minutes on foot from the Passo Pramollo. Hikes start right at the hotel.
Can day guests eat in the hotel restaurant after their round?
Yes. The restaurant at Berghotel Presslauer also welcomes guests who are not staying overnight, during the season from 11 am to 10 pm, with Wednesday closed until 4 pm. Hot meals are served from 12 noon to 1.30 pm and from 6 pm to 8 pm. Table reservation and choice of dishes are needed by 12 noon at the latest, on +43 4285 209.
