Which day rides into Italy and Slovenia start from the Gail Valley?<\/h2>\n\n\n\n

From Berghotel Presslauer, day rides lead through Carinthia and into Italy, Slovenia, East Tyrol and South Tyrol. The nearest pass road starts in Tr\u00f6polach, 7 km from the hotel: according to quaeldich.de, the Nassfeld Pass road (B90) climbs 929 m over 11.2 km to the top at 1,530 m and continues into Italy, where the pass is called Passo di Pramollo. Other portals give slightly different figures for the climb.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Riders who want to base themselves in southern Carinthia for several days of day rides into Italy and Slovenia stay in one place and plan each day with the hosts, who provide maps and route suggestions.<\/p>\n<\/div><\/div>\n\n\n\n

Is Berghotel Presslauer part of Motorradland K\u00e4rnten?<\/h2>\n\n\n\n

Yes. Berghotel Presslauer is a member establishment of the Motorradland K\u00e4rnten association. According to visitcarinthia.at, guests of member establishments ride along with Harry\u2019s Bike Tours for free from the beginning of April to the beginning of October: three guided rides a week, 150 to 300 km long, starting at 9.30 am. On Wednesdays the ride sets off in the region of Nassfeld-Pressegger See, Lesachtal and Weissensee, according to visitcarinthia.at; you sign up at harrys-biketours.at<\/a>.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Riders download the Motorradland K\u00e4rnten routes as GPX files from the official Carinthia route portal<\/a>, available in English and German: on each route page the “GPX” button leads to the download. That is how guests of Berghotel Presslauer load the routes straight onto their GPS device. Routes through the Gail Valley include the 6-Passes-Route<\/a> (236 km) and Triglav National Park<\/a> into Slovenia (209.6 km). According to kaernten.at, guests of member hotels also get the Carinthia Panoramic Roads Ticket at a reduced price.<\/p>\n<\/div>

Are the Pl\u00f6ckenpass and the Nassfeld Pass open?<\/h2>\n\n\n\n

Usually yes, but not always: according to the Austrian automobile club \u00d6AMTC, there have been repeated roadworks on the Pl\u00f6ckenpass road (B110) between K\u00f6tschach-Mauthen and Paluzza since 2026, and road blocks of several days are possible. The way into Friuli is then the Nassfeld Pass road (B90), which according to the \u00d6AMTC climbs to 1,530 m with gradients of up to 14%. Before each ride from Berghotel Presslauer, please check the \u00d6AMTC traffic information<\/a>.<\/p>\n<\/div>\n\n\n\n

What does a room with half board cost in September?<\/h2>\n\n\n\n

In autumn 2027, from 1 September to 3 October 2027, a room with shower and WC at Berghotel Presslauer costs from \u20ac66 per person per night with breakfast and from \u20ac82 with half board, or from \u20ac71 and \u20ac87 with a balcony. If a rider uses a double room alone, the price list adds a single-use supplement of \u20ac18 per night. For stays of fewer than two nights there is a supplement of \u20ac5 per person per night. Cancellation is free up to 30 days before arrival.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

For groups there are single rooms without a balcony and double rooms with or without a balcony. Group rates and motorbike packages are not published; please ask when you enquire with the number of riders.<\/p>\n<\/div><\/div>\n\n\n\n

Can we get dinner after a long ride?<\/h2>\n\n\n\n

Yes. Half-board guests at Berghotel Presslauer get a three-course dinner in the evening, with beef and speck from the family\u2019s own production and vegetables and herbs from the hotel\u2019s garden. According to the hotel, hot food is served from 12:00 to 13:30 and from 18:00 to 20:00, and on Wednesdays the restaurant is closed until 16:00. Whether a later dinner is possible for a group arriving late, please ask when you book.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
